I(34f) have a guy(28m) friend who got hit on by this acquaintance(36f) at our really good mutual friends(43m) bday party. This acquaintance has been hooking up and pretty much dating non exclusively to my 43m friend for 2 years. Their relationship kinda fizzled out a few months ago but they never talked about ending things. 28m jumped at the chance to hook up with her. They met up after that and just made out for a bit ONLY because I told him that’ll complicate things for our friend group and also to think about how 43m friend and how he felt. From my advice, 28m called 43m and told him that he wanted to hook up with 36f. 43m said he was okay with it but then called him a few hours later and said he’s not sure how he felt and would get back to him in a few days since he’s on vacation. 28m didn’t wait for 43m to call him back before making out with 36f.
I have so little respect for 28m now. How could you do that to a good friend who voiced out he’s not comfortable? How could you not consider your good friends feelings before acting? And just for a fling?
And by the way, everyone in our friend group knows that they were dating and liked each other alot at one point and not that long ago.
I’m not giving 36f too much shit because she’s not in the core friend group but have been slowly getting into the core group and she wanted to be with 43m for a bit and I think she just got tired of waiting for him.
