Opinion of flower(s) on the first date?

I try to do this regularly for any date I'm going on, if I like the person I'll get them in their favorite color.
Last one I did this with was someone that asked me out, was an alright date but just a short time at a buffet. Then she wanted a to go plate to fill, (I did get it 🤦♂️) and now, I'm ghosted lol
I'm not upset or anything just asking for a general opinion. I'm dating casually so by no means is there obligation to keep up with me, but like whAt
