Telling people to move where their from is bad advice.

Here me out, while yes it could change things itā€™s arguably the worst advice in this sub. I personally live in a rural area with almost nowhere to meet people so I understand why telling someone/ being told to move can be very beneficial for meeting someone/ people HOWEVER people fail to realize people canā€™t just move location outta the blue.

Hereā€™s a few reasons why. 1. Housing market: Pretty much everyone knows the housing market sucks and everything is way overpriced. It has been proven that at least 50% or more canā€™t afford to move in America. Rent is too high, Interest rates are too high, etc. Not to mention someone may be in a lease they still have 6 months on. 2. Job/ business: Iā€™m gonna use myself as an example for this. I own my own business, and that business isnā€™t cheap. In order to move Iā€™d need to pay to move that as well which includes finding a new space for that business. Thatā€™s without mentioning my business is made for where I currently live, if I were to move elsewhere then my business would likely fail pretty quickly. A lot of people are in that predicament or work a job where that canā€™t move without finding a brand new job. 3. Just because someone can move doesnā€™t mean itā€™ll help them. With moving not only are you risking the first 2 things but also your friends, family, and possibly their overall lifestyle. (Using myself again) I personally live a more rural/ country lifestyle. I know for a fact I wouldnā€™t do well in a more city environment and thereā€™s many others who are that way & vise versa. You may have a very hard time keeping in touch with friends and family that youā€™ll lose what you already had and if you donā€™t meet the type of person your after by moving then you did it all for nothing.

This is just my take, feel free to leave what you think in the comments
