Does it make sense to request a second date?

In the last week, I (25F) had a date with a man I had matched with. We seemed to get along well on the date, which went nicely. I asked him again the next day if he wanted to go out, and he offered to the following Sunday. He added that he wasn't entirely certain of the time but will let me know when he was free. He then stopped speaking for a few days. I didn't give it much attention because I assumed he might simply be busy. Whatever the case, Sunday came and went with no word from him. I'm torn since I had a nice time on the first date and I want to continue dating.
