33m here, been online dating off and on for a few years since my last serious relationship ended. I’m finding that I do get a decent number of matches on the apps I use, but I’m having a really hard time moving the conversation / “relationship” forward. It seems like after a few back and forth messages things just trail off and I don’t get responses. My messages seem genuine and normal, am I not being interesting enough? Is the competition just so high that I’m being prioritized less than other guys? Why match if there’s no interest in communication? Having a hard time understanding what I’m doing wrong. Any advice is appreciated.
