I am doing a massive update of the Subreddit data file which include the subreddit types "public","private","user","restricted","gold_only","employees_only","archived" and "gold_restricted."
This list will contain around 10 million subreddits in total. Why so many? Great question! The new user profile pages are also their own subreddits. For instance, if you go to my user page (/u/stuck_in_the_matrix) you will notice that it is treated like its own subreddit. That's how organizations like The Washington Post can post stories to their profile page.
This will be a comprehensive update and include the current subscriber counts for all subreddits collected.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Once the ingest is complete, the data file will be compressed and uploaded to Pushshift.io's file repository.
Thank you!
