I'm going mad with boredom at work with the latest phase of our states consolidation going on, so before I drive this pencil through my head out of boredom I would ask you guys for your advice.
What are your best tips if you were in charge of consolidating every single different management tool from every agency (from Fish and Game to Health and Welfare to Department of Finance. I've done it all myself for the last four years because we've been strapped on a skeleton crew and the stress has been palpable but I finally have a grasp around how I like it best, but I'm finding it's not really how everyone else likes it and there's definitely some improvements I could .
If it was entirely on your shoulders because that's just the way things are run where you're at...
What would you do? There are no wrong answers.
Currently we are using sunbirds DC track and power IQ to manage everything, just had the most to it of being the most user-friendly. Checked out device 42 but It honestly reminds me of The Cones of Dunshire (needlessly complicated). Like it was made for people who grew up making all their house computers Linux, just because it made them stand out.
Ok I'm gonna say it, asserting Linux in any work environment over Windows, even though Mac OS and Linux are better, is the worst hipster idealolgy and needs to stop. We get it your individualistic but stop flashing your work computer to Linux and making it some windows overlay just because you know how to.
I am not even in cyber security, in fact they've always pissed me off the most of any group because of how much they slow things down, but I get sick when I see my coworkers having Linux environments on their desktops when everyone else is running windows like they should be.
Rant over
Anyways any suggestions ?
