[PSA] Unusually high spambot activity - Automod spares your eyes
Author Summary

Post Body

Some submissions on the frontpage have relatively high comment figures listed right now. These are almost all spambots and since they're almost all freshly generated accounts, our trusty automod is working well in filtering them out. Here's an example of what you're being spared from looking at.

I have no idea who or what triggered this and for how long this will last. Usually automod filters 1-2 such submissions every couple of days, but it's the first time I'm seeing it at this scale on our sub. I only wanted to inform the community that we're under a weird form of spam-attack and that our defenses are working (so far).

Should they breach, I'll probably inform Reddit Admins to make a sweep, but remember: I'm basically alone in modding this place, so a reaction delay is very possible. Be aware that reporting a submission is also a way to trigger automod to remove it. So if it's clearly spam, hit that report button!

That is all. Thank you!
