So I've beaten dark souls 3 and honestly it's a pretty great game, I think it has some of the best areas and bosses that fromsoftware has created it was a fun journey. I played through the base game aswell as both dlc and I enjoyed my time with it. Now to literally everyone here this would sound like great news on it's own but to me it's actually quite surprising.
Back in February of 2020 I decided to play a little game known as Dark souls 1. My friend wanted me to play the games for awhile now and I decided 2020 would be a good time to do it. Now unfortunately to put it bluntly I didn't like the game and in fact i still don't but I have only played it once so maybe I didn't give it a fair shot. Regardless of my opinion though after a few months had passed i decided to play dark souls 2 figured maybe it was just the first one that didn't do it for me but no, dark souls 2 ended up being worse and by that point I was pretty much done I didn't want anything to do with the series and wanted to forgot about it altogether.
A few more months pass and my friend says I should try bloodborne and mentioned how different it was to the souls games and I was abit hesitant at first but figured well I might aswell try it out at least. 1 month later and I had the platinum trophy and honestly I enjoyed it way more than dark souls 1 and 2 it was just better in literally every aspect and it became one of my favourite games ever.
So not long after that success I decided that I would give dark souls one last chance to see if it could win me over by playing dark souls 3 and much to my surprise I really enjoyed it. Some of the locations could even rival some of bloodbornes and even the boss fights are the best the series has seen to date they were so freaking good, I do still prefer bloodborne overall but dark souls 3 really surprised me and I'm glad I played it.
I don't know if there is much to take away from this but I'm at least happy that I could enjoy some of the games because I think when it's done right it can be really awesome, maybe I was abit unfair on dark souls 1 and 2 at the time and I should give them another go but I think for now I'm satisfied with what I achieved.
When I get a ps5 eventually I do plan to play the demons souls remake so I am looking forward to that but for the time being I might do another run of dark souls 3 which it makes me real happy to say that and then after that I'll probably play something else.
TL;DR I didn't like dark souls 1 and 2 but bloodborne and dark souls 3 managed to win me over which I'm really happy about, I also hope to play the demons souls remake sometime in the future.
