While I half mixed feelings on the DLC as a whole, that was such a good boss fight. Definitely the hardest for me for me in the whole game, base and DLC. I lost count of the amount of times I fought him.
I beat Gael without too much trouble but Midir was so tough due to high damage absorbtion, 1 hit kills, large hit boxes, and classic souls camera issues since he's so big (from what I've read he's supposed to be the true end boss in terms of difficulty).
But it was a blast!
Honestly it thought me to be patient and take my shots, that I somehow got through the rest of the game without doing that. But I got so good at shielding, dodging, and taking my hits bc of him.
I beat him by dying over and over but each time learning all his moves until I can develop a strategy to act in response with everything he threw at me, which is why I love the series.
