In particular, I’m wondering if you think it impacts the events of DS3. My first FromSoft game was DS3 and I think it’ll always be my favorite, but I recently finished my first DS2 play-through. There are loads of references to DS2 in DS3, and I’ve heard some YouTubers suggest that those are just Easter eggs because DS2 doesn’t impact the overall story at all.
I’m not so sure tho… the main plot point in DS2 is escaping the binary choice presented in DS1 - should we link the fire, or let it fade? DS2 takes that and asks - why are there only two choices? Why can’t I just escape the undead curse to begin with?
Then we have DS3, where our character doesn’t even go hollow unless we we do the lord of hollows quest lines. It seems like there was a clear progression throughout the series.
What do you think?
