So I start up darksouls for the first time ever after buying it during a discount period on Xbox. Heard all the hype about it being 'the hardest game ever'. This, and my own absent mindedness, was a formula for disaster. I didn't pick up the bandits knife past the shield (which I did pick up), and kept dying to pink undeads. "This really is difficult..." Almost give up on the game entirely when I come around to the dagger again. "Holy hell this thing rocks! No fuckin wonder!" Burn through the Asylum and I'm in Lordran in no time, shaking my head at myself the whole way. "You stupid, stupid sonofagun." However painful, the experience taught me the game mechanics. The 'darksouls dance' so to speak. Instead if mashing attacks, I learned to time my approach, and adapt to an opponent's moveset, rather than approaching all situations the same way. Swinging that dagger for the first time was the greatest feeling of accomplishment I have ever derived from this game, and it hooked me instantly. Where and how did you learn the darksouls dance? Anyone do the same thing as me?
