From Beyond bug not giving character back

Haven't seen anything about this on here or the wiki. I had the event From Beyond come up, but wasn't sure who I wanted. I closed the event screen and went to the missions menu (where you choose which quest to go on), and from this screen I dragged the character I wanted onto my roster. The quest updated, but I did not get my character back.
I'm on iPad, with 3 open roster slots (I think 26/29) and DD1 completed (shouldn't matter, but that's 4 free roster slots).
