Hi people! My daughter (3d grade) likes to read some weird novels, is all into some random environmentalist and proto-feminist theories etc. And the girls in her class violently make fun of her, claiming that she is brainwashed, that she is fake, that she is just pretentious etc. Every time I hear these stories I think that the Daria series is exactly about her situation, but I'm afraid she is a bit too young yet to enjoy it.
So if you were to suggest something that is similar in message / humor, but accessible to elementary / early middle school kids, what would you suggest? Like "Daria the lonely explorer" or something? How can I help her to realize that lonely people are not alone, and there are whole communities of those who share their exclusion? (I may be overgeneralizing here, but I hope you get the point)
Thank you!
