So first off, Austin is an idiot, however he runs and manages every aspect of the main pod and patreon pod.
He has always been paid $100 per pod, even though Ian and Nico get paid $1000 per week for “editing” the main videos. One quarter of the main video viewers also watch the pod, so take that into account.
While moving house, Danny didn’t want to bring strangers into his apartment, so he planted the idea that Austin should start a podcast studio. Even though, Austin doesn’t even understand audio compression…
Danny then offered to pay the amount of rent the studio would require to Austin, as a pay rise. So now Austin gets $250 per pod.
Before expenses, he can pay rent, but he doesn’t have any other cash flow at all, so he has to run streams just to bait donations to pay rent.
He stated himself, the expenses that prevent paying rent are all drug related. Not to mention food and the high price of gas right now, as the brothers nolonger have a bunkbed at the studio.
All in all, If Danny had to pay for the studio, he would be $2k out of pocket a month plus the additional costs of Austin’s labour.
During an episode prior to the moving, Austin bragged about selling $2k worth of Pokémon cards just to make the down payment. Danny laughed at him.
What a complete scum bag. Austin is never going to get another client, or be a successful streamer, but now he’s contractually obliged to make rent for a facility that the actual show runner (Danny) requires to make his $4k per month through the patreon pod.
Exactly the reason this happened, there was no budget for the studio and Austin’s pay as the patreon counts have remained stagnant for almost 6 months, even while doubling the price due to inflation. That doubling the price was never reflected in Austins’s pocket either.
It’s a sad time to watch a set of autistic brothers throw their life into the ground for the sake of a sociopathic internet nobody who thinks his political takes are worth discussing on his “comedy” podcast, due to the settling in idea that he really isn’t a comedian at all.
The numbers don’t lie. Austin’s rent is $1750 and Danny is paying him $500 per week ($250) per podcast. That means Austin makes $2000 a month.
So In total, Austin makes $250 profit PER MONTH. He would ideally be splitting this with Dino. Austin often couldn’t afford petrol when making $200 per week. $250 PER MONTH is insane. That’s $62.50 per week. Could anyone survive on that?
