Just Finished V3... [SPOILERS - DO NOT ENTER]
Post Body

Hey all, I've been a huge Danganronpa fan since 1 & 2. I got V3 for the Christmas sale and I'm aware this will probably get hate, downvotes and the like, but I'm alright taking some flack and I apologise for the incoming negativity.

I could not stand that ending. It killed the entire game for me. Something that was originally a game I'd highly recommend with the best cast to date & easily the best first case in the entire franchise, became, in an instant... something I regret dropping $40 on and desperately want my time & money I've spent on this franchise.

Why I'm making this thread, well... I'm hoping discussing here will be therapeutic for how frustrating that experience was and honestly, I'd like some explanations for later on what I missed because by the end of it, I just wanted it to be over.

I absolutely despised the whole 'meta' notion, with the world not being real and yarda yarda. It all felt incredibly pretentious and convoluted. But, I couldn't see any recent discussions on it. By the end of it (by the time you start playing as Kibou), in all honesty I just started skipping the text fast. I still understand a general gist of what they were saying (and doing), but Danganronpa's enjoyability was never about 'hope vs. despair', but rather the characters, the world, the interactions & of course, the mysteries.

So I guess I'd like clarification on:

  • Did I miss any information during the ending cinematics & credits? I skipped both, so I just want a general summary of anything important I missed.
  • Am I stupid as fuck for not getting the whole 'meta' aspect and making it ruin the game experience for me?
