Should I play through Goodbye Despair?

Heyo, huge fan of Danganronpa, in fact Junko is my favorite villian of all time. Here's the thing. I played Danganronpa 1, and I loved it. Then I started Goodbye Despair, but realized that although i enjoyed the story, there was a lot more fluff to the gameplay, and I just wanted to get to the good stuff, so I watched a recap instead, which gave me what i needed to for Another Episode and Danganronpa 3. Now that i've finished the whole series, I kind of regret doing that. Although I know what happens in Goodbye Despair to a T, is it still worth playing?

Edit: Finished it. Fuck Improved Hangman's Gambit. SO ANNOYING.
