My boyfriend doesn’t dance. He doesn’t like to go out. He is a homebody, very reserved in himself and physically inexpressive. I’m the opposite. I LOVE to dance and express myself and be wild and emotional. So I go dancing without him, and I find that I have the most magical nights. I meet the most wonderful people, have the best experiences, form instant and giggly connections. It’s hard coming down from the dance high, and it makes me question our relationship. I feel most myself on the dance floor— how do I integrate those feelings into everyday, ordinary, routine life?
Anyone else struggle with the dance high and the subsequent dopamine drop?
