Post Body

So I (18F) have been staying with my boyfriend (20M) more often than not at his apartment (itā€™s better than my dorm). Things are really nice but I realized something today that kind of sent me down a rabbit hole of my own emotions and childhood.

My boyfriend was doing some paperwork and he was actively getting frustrated. For some reason that ā€œtriggersā€ me if that makes sense. Like I start to get stressed out and I have to leave the room.

I noticed that I do that with ALL men. Women are fine, I can be in the room with 20 agitated bitches and not bat an eye, but with men that are agitated I get anxious and sometimes start crying and apologizing for situations that donā€™t have anything to do with me.

I realized that when my dad got agitated he made it a point to attack you or take his anger out on whoever was in the room. So to not make myself a target for anger and frustration, I have to leave the room. Even my boyfriend caught an attitude with me over something small. He asked me a really backhanded question and I in response just stayed silent and went to chill in the living room.

If anyone else can relate thatā€™d be amazing. Pls tell me Iā€™m not overreacting. Or tell me if I am lol.
