A wonderful Thanksgiving day trip to grandmas and all the activities yesterday, has turned into an urgent care visit, sent to ER, now PICU.
My son looked at me while they were progressively sticking him more at each stop and said “I’m brave like you dad”. Fuck, my heart melted and stopped at the same time.
Fever down (104.1)but still around (101.3) , chest x-rays showing signs of pneumonia and an ear infection. Few bags of antibiotics and fluids and his color is slowly coming back.
I always tried to imagine how I would react in this type of situation. I know now that I cry more than my little dude in these situations, but I got him the help he needed.
I hope all the dads that read this are doing okay and staying strong no matter what they are dealing with. This place has always been a great sub Reddit to be a part of, thank you all for everything.
Apologies for grammar/typos.
I feel you man, we've been to the PICU a couple times from RSV and it sucks to feel so helpless even at a place of care. So many posts on here about it too. Hope all goes well for you all.

I mean at least you're able to communicate with your kid. Ours always got it so young and it's heartbreaking when they are so scared and yet unable to understand what you're saying. Regardless, it's a shitty situation at any age.
