Due to messed up stuff going on in our lives my step kids(SD9 SS6) had to go stay with great Grandma for a few days. They didn't want to do this and are feeling weird about stuff happening out of no where. Normally they call their mom and she talks to them and plays games and stuff and I deal with our bio kid, but tonight bio kid wanted only mommy so I got to talk to the kids. Did really have much to say to each other but eventually my step daughter started playing a Scrabble like game on her tablet and we started guessing words together. She is much better then I am. At one point great grandma ask who she is talking to and my step daughter says, "I'm talking to my dad."

I just am happy about it. They didn't get to choose to have me in their life but they accepted me anyway and I'm going to keep earning that acceptance.
