Hi, Daddit!
I've been a father for just under a year now. My little girl is zooming around, babbling like crazy and playing with my keyboard. I can already see her personality emerging and can hardly wait to get to know her as a person, not just an infant. I'm in good health, and still in my thirties, and I can't think of any reason I might not be around in 20 years...but you never know, right?
I want her to grow up with everything I can give her, so I'm paying for life insurance - just in case. But insurance won't give her a daddy! I want to record a few video messages from me to future her, just in case an accident happens and I can't tell her myself.
The question is, what do I tell her? I've got a couple of ideas:
- I love you unconditionally, no matter what you do or become.
- Let me tell you about my family.
- Let me tell you about how I met your mother.
- Let me tell you about my allergies and family history of diseases.
- General love and loneliness advice.
- Did I mention I love you unconditionally?
...so, my ideas aren't amazing. I want them to be amazing, because if I'm not around, I want her to have something that will help her deal with life. Can anybody give me a hand?
PS - it's late, and my work keeps me extremely busy. I probably won't have much time to reply to comments for a while - sorry! Rest assured I will read (and upvote) them all!
tl;dr - I want to leave nice messages for my daughter as she grows up just in case. What do I say to make them special?
