Firstly, I want to thank you all for the support through the difficult time in our lives.

Sadly, Dakota passed away Tuesday morning from complications with Leigh's Syndrome. He fought hard through the night and even perked up when we played his favorite Disney songs. However, it became too much for his little heart to bear and he passed away peacefully in my and his mother's arms.

He gave us the best 15 months of our lives and will be forever missed by everyone.

Again, I just want to thank you all for the kind words and shoulders to lean on through all of this. Please give all your kids a big hug for Dakota tonight.

Edit: a bright side to everything that has happened, Dakota's heart valves were donated and will be saving two infants and an adult with a chance to save a fourth individual in the future. He gets to live on through others now.
