And it was amazing. She was glued to the action the entire time, happy, making a lot of noise. Much like she was the previous night with the fireworks.
I know she's too young to understand, but damn it was amazing sitting there at my desk holding her and watching some of the best damn soccer in the world. It's certainly made me take interest in following more closely the /r/NWSL and /r/WomensSoccer in general.
It also made me ever so more disappointed to go on some of the sporting subs here and find a lot of misogyny and sexism.
Luckily her Daddit is a Seattle soccer fan, so we'll make a trip some day to see the Sounders FC and Reign FC play. And hopefully one day we have both an MLS and NWSL team in town. In the mean time, this Daddit realizes he needs to pay a lot more attention to womens sports, with a little lady growing up in the house.
