Dads, I (37) wasn’t sure how to label this but I figured support was best cause at the end of the day, it’s what’s needed, as specific as this can be.
My son just turned 3, and he’s amazing. My wife and I have ourselves a lovable handful. However, he takes after her side so there’s a lot of emotional instability. This only came in the last few weeks so I’m learning it isn’t terrible twos but three is really the age. On top of this, I just got an “undersold” promotion, and am now spending twice a month in a different state for varying periods of time.
Not to be outdone, my body said “hey, I’m going to breakdown on you”. Family heart issue started a few years ago, and I just learned I have a syndrome all my life which leads to “higher than normal chances” of cancer. Will be multiple appointments a year. Absolutely no family history, so it’s an unknown new mutation. I’m so scared I gave it to my son (can’t test for a few years).
I state all of this to say I’m so tired, no idea what to do, and worrying this depression settling in is real. Obviously going back to therapy is a need, but if anyone has anything in at home tactics?
