So the other day my daughter (12) came to me and said, “Dad, I got my period today” she explained her friend helped her with a pad and then she asked me to take her to the store. At the store we spent probably 20 minutes going through all of the different pads, sizes, absorbency etc. I’m learning with her. While deciding, we just had a normal healthy conversation about what she might need during the daytime and at night. We picked out the ones she wanted then headed to the register. A lady stops us and tells my daughter she has an amazing dad. It just felt good. As a side note, I’m married and she has a wonderful relationship with her mom as well. Yet I was available and she felt comfortable and secure in asking for help.
