Today, on Father's Day, I want to recognize all the fathers who are unjustly being denied access to their children. My heart goes out to those who, like me, are facing the painful reality of not being able to be with their kids due to vindictive ex-partners and unfair legal restrictions.
To the fathers who are in similar situations: Stay strong and keep fighting. I understand the feelings of despair when it seems like everyone in the world is trying to stop you. This journey can feel incredibly lonely, and the truth is, we often have to face it alone. Our children deserve to have us in their lives, and they deserve to know the truth.
Due to the financial situation my family left me in, it could take years before I can afford to fight for access to my son. A recent incident where I just wanted to talk to my son resulted in the police continuing to support my ex-wife in keeping my son from me. Now, I'm facing charges that require me to attend parenting classes—when all I want to do is be a parent.
I am one of those fathers, and I experienced the heartbreak of being physically forced away from my child despite their desire to speak to me. This experience has only strengthened my resolve to fight for my rights and for the truth to be known.
Let's continue to advocate for our rights and the rights of our children. We must remain resilient and hopeful, even in the face of adversity.
Happy Father's Day to all the dedicated dads out there, dealing with this struggle alone.
