Opinions on taking kids out of school for a couple days or a week to go on a trip?

I want to take the kids out of school for a couple days this school year to go on a short trip then also a week next year for a week long trip. They’ll be in kindergarten and second grade next year. They are good kids. Listen well. No behavioral issues and where the need to be academically. Vacations are so much cheaper when kids are in school.
Just afraid of backlash from the school or teachers.
