Post Body

Blended family of 6.5 years. Girls in question are both 12ish, have grown up together, are tight. Great kids.

No idea if this is a thing.

Everyone’s been in bed for like 15 minutes. Wife and I are chilling on phones, bedroom door closed, lights on.

Out of nowhere, something starts beeping. Pretty loudly, and unfamiliar. My wife goes, it’s Alexa bc our Echo’s light is spinning. “Alexa, stop!” It doesn’t stop.

I unplug Alexa, it doesn’t stop. I open the bedroom door and pick up the cellphone with the April Fool YouTube Siren video playing on it.

They come in, we congratulate them profusely, we laugh, hang out for a few, send them off.

It’s just cool that both of them know both of us well enough to feel safe pulling that off. Like they knew that we’d think it was awesome. Which we did.
