Broken stock release button

Has anyone ever dealt with a broken stock release button? I test fit a stock adapter to my scorpion and now it appears the plastic button is broken and I can see the spring. This is making it impossible to remove the adapter because I can not depress the button. Anyone have any ideas that don’t include drilling out and destroying my stock adapter?
