Hello r/Cyprus,
I know that this reddit is probably focused on South Cyprus where there are mostly ethnic greeks and that most Cypriot Arabs are concentrated in the north.
Basically, I speak arabic and am fascinated by this peripheral dialect of arabic. I want to know if I can speak (voice chat) with someone who speaks cypriot arabic in order to see what kind of mutual intelligibility I would have with them, their accent, how they pronounce certain words, etc.
I'm kind of expecting "haha dude we are gamers here, we speak english, EVEN if we wanted to speak our native tongue, that's just Greek. AFAIK, there are only a handful of extremely old cypriot arabs in the north, we can't get to them, and even if we could, they don't know what a computer is".
Maybe there might be someone in the diaspora that speaks it? Let me know! I am very curious to hear from you guys.
Thanks!
