How do I manage this mania

I can always tell when I'm in a manic state because I become obsessed with porn. In my depressive state I want nothing to do with it.
But in my manic state I do great at work, I'm highly motivated, social, get everything done. I take on more tasks, sign up for more events, then when my depressive state hits it bites me in the ass and I just have no motivation for any of it. How do you guys manage?
