How fast is too fast

During a recent descent I hit 43 MPH. It was fun as hell but after I thought to myself was that stupid? I’m not racing anybody so it’s not like I need to be going that fast but man was it cool to be going faster than the cars behind me. I have a roubaix sport so I feel like it should be able to handle these speeds pretty easily but am I being reckless?
