I have a Scott CX Team 2013 bike that is a mix of 105 and Ultegra, it is essentially still the stock bike but has better tubeless wheels on it (still rim brake and alloy though).
It is a 2x bike (obviously). Its top gear isn't that high because its a CX bike.
The cantilever breaks have always been the worst part of the bike (not just in the wet). And occasional squeaks and creaks.
My question is what does buying a 2020 Gravel or Cross bike get you that is significant over replacing warn parts?
My default thinking is: discs (which would be heavier I think). So what important/big has happened in 7 years?
