I've been 🚲 for years, but this was my first bad fall. I commute everyday and alternate between my gravel bike and my road bike. Today was a day I didn't expect rain, and as I approach the roundabouts I obvious took ot too quickly, and as I turned (and probably accelerated) I flew off the bike, skimming g the ground and my head (fortunately with helmet) battered the ground. I'm OK but annoyed at myself. I've also lost confidence in my bikes ability to stick to the ground. I understand slick tyres in the rain are not clever, but still, I've never had that happen....
In future, I'll be riding my gravel bike with thicker tyres, better grip and lower pressure. I'll also go slower around roundabouts. But damn, that feel good factor of riding a bike quickly disappears when this happens.
Advice appreciated 🙏
EDIT: should be "fell" in the subject heading, not "feel". DoH.
