Bit of a context here: My mom know this guy on Facebook who offers shared Netflix accounts for $4.33 for 3 months of Netflix. Very cheap and my mom got the deal. She has been buying the "subscriptions" from him for like 4 or 5 or 6 times now and she bought one recently. The guy's FB profile is private and locked which is quite suspicious. There was this one time he offered a "cracked" account as a temporary replacement when a subscription my mom bought stopped working and logged itself out which is something that raised my suspicions.
I just realised earlier that what if all those accounts we got were cracked/hacked? What if we were just lucky the last time that nothing bad happened?
I warned them about it, told them to log out the account because of risks of hacking, DDoS attacks, and legal actions. But sadly, they don't want to listen to me.
I know there are risks and I came here to ask about what should I do to protect myself and them. I love them all to death but unfortunately, I hope this doesn't sound discriminating, they are dumb and doesn't want to hear a single damn thing from me.
Now r/cybersecurity_help, please help me.
Tldr: My family is using a suspected cracked Netflix account bought from some guy on FB. Family is at risk from cyber attacks and I warned them, they don't want to listen. I now ask for help.
