Hi! So I’m new to all this, but I have some experience with electronics (mainly robotics) and plenty with Raspberry Pi. I want to make a CyberDeck for two main purposes:
I want a quick terminal for headless servers / PIs when the SSH server crashes. (Basically I just need a KVM and external wires to plug into the server on the deck) For the KVM, I’m trying to find a small PCB KVM where I can wire in my own switch so it can be on the front of the deck, but I’m struggling to find one
I also want to use it as a controller for robotics platforms. 2 joysticks and a few buttons should serve the purpose fine, and I can have a bluetooth module on the Pi.
Planning on using a USB power bank or two for battery power. The only issue is I need an easy way to switch between AUX and BAT power…Not sure if that makes sense
Beyond that I just have general ideas, although the idea of having it act as a ham radio too has floated around, but it seems sort of out of the theme of the rest of it so I’m not sure
I’ve also considered making a build guide since it’s a relatively easy design and I could help other people who are new. Although, the robotics use case is a tad niche.
What do y’all think? Any advice? Any solutions for my KVM or battery problems? Thanks, can’t wait to get started!
