As someone who's just started putting out content on this subreddit I'm honestly surprised that there isn't more meta-conversation about the Hearthstone design space.
It seems like people are happy to toss ideas up as cards, but very few seem to get commented. Very seldom do we talk about design goals with cards, or why the card should exist. Often I see comments about a card being too strong, but maybe only half the time do I see a suggestion about what a card should be, instead.
Recently a post went up talking about Priest's lack of a good 2 drop. A few of us made suggestions based on the need, and interpreted what could be done to fill the void (and whether that void should be filled). These are the kinds of posts that really get me thinking; my best ideas come from attempting to build a solution for an agreed upon problem.
An example: what would Warrior need in order to have a viable aggro deck archetype? It looks like they've tried before, with Warbot, but they haven't really made it viable. We should also be cautious to not give Patron a boost at the same time (it's good enough, thank you very much).
I know we have the weekly theme contest, which I love, but more stuff like this I think would go a long way in making this subreddit more of a community.
