Custody changes
Post Body

OK this is long, so I’m doing talk to text. I am going to try to put as much information in here without giving away too much and my ex possibly seeing this. It is too important for my daughter and her safety that he does not. Anyways, let’s just start with that he has sole custody of her, I didn’t do anything to lose custody of her. I just did not have a lawyer and he did so I got screwed. It has been 12 years and I have never given up on my daughter I have never missed a day of visitation. I have never gotten in trouble with DSS or whatever even though he has tried multiple times to have DSS investigate me only for them to be unfounded. My daughter has recently come to me with allegations of abuse from her father both mental and physical. I took her to a therapist and basically what is going on is DSS is going to be contacted and show up at her school and she is going to tell the guidance counselor and the DSS agent about the abuse. What can I expect from here on out? I was told that I would get emergency custody, it will be my weekend anyway when this happens because my daughter wanted to make sure of that because she is terrified please please please tell me somebody has experience this and can help me out. I do have a lawyer, retained and ready to go now.
