So I’m new to the CG and feel more lost with general hair care the more I research. I was always trying to use products with less sulphate and such which helped because I had sensitive scalp and a lot of other shampoos made my scalp itch. So I was already on my way of the CG method. I’ve looked at different methods to style for my type of hair. I feel like I’m still testing it out, but I learned today I couldn’t get a good cast by the bowl method. I have type 2a/2b (maybe 2c but not sure) and it’s fine with high porosity level. (I’m not sure on the porosity either) I just know too much product weighs my hair bc it’s fine and easily will come out of a curl and frizz. I get good section of waves the best so far by sectioning and using gel (NYM) and then mousse (Moroccan oil Curl mousse). Diffuse then SOTC. But I feel like it still has trouble holding and frizzes out after a few hours. There’s just so many products out there it’s so hard to find what works and combinations. And that’s just the styling. The shampoos and conditioners and treatments…I haven’t even explored that yet. So I guess I’m not sure how or what my hair should feel like at its best. Currently I’m using Moroccan oil repair shampoo/conditioner and I use their mask once a week. Sometimes I don’t always use the rinse out conditioner and replace with their leave in (same brand. They got me on one of their sales) because the rinse out seems to sometimes weigh my hair down too.
