Truly hard hold gel
Post Body

Ok, I’ve tried for YEARS to find a gel that is actually hard hold on me for a cast and multi day wear. Even if I let my hair 100% dry before manipulating it a soft cast forms at best. I never get second or third day curls without adding at least some water and fixing top layer. I sleep with silk bonnet and pineappled. I’ve done a billion experiments with product order etc with no luck. Even with literally using the yellow got2b gel for spiking (with a touch of water to make it spreadable) I need to restyle second day.

Closest thing for me is maybbeeee Harry’s gel but still not perfect. Some recent no’s were:

Pattern hair gel Advanced ouidad climate control Got2b yellow gel Inner sense I create hold Curlsmith in shower style fixer

I have medium density and ?maybe fine - medium courseness.

Any suggestions ???

The routine your provided was just a product list with no techniques, thank you for the added detail

Hi! Your post has been temporarily removed because you have not included your hair care routine. We require this for all photo posts, even if the photo is not of yourself. Please reply to this comment with more info and we can reapprove it for you!

Here’s what we mean by “routine”:

  • Which shampoo, cowash and/or conditioner you used
  • Any other products (your gel, mousse, etc.), their brand/name, & how you applied them
  • How you dried your hair (air dried? diffused? etc.)
  • Anything else that’s helpful to know!

We require this because it helps keep r/curlyhair focused on learning & helping each other instead of just selfies.

Thank you!
