I am trying the curly girl method. But what I understand is that it isn't recommended to brush your hair unless it's wet and has conditioner in it.
My hair is wavy and somewhere between a type 2B and 2C. Natural blonde but it has been lightened.
According to the curly girl website, my strands and thickness (density) are both medium. BUT according to other tests, my strands are fine and my thickness is medium. I am unsure because I've always gone with fine strands, and thick density. Lets just say that while I don't have a 3" thick pony tail, if I were to divide it into 2" sections to straighten or curl, it takes a good solid hour. (and doesn't hold a style anyways).
Anyhoo, it is prone to getting rats nests at the nape of my neck by the end of the day. For best results, I would need to brush it out before showering and then shower and condition to set my waves for the next day( I typically shower at night before bed). I can not see any way around not brushing my hair for two whole days before co-washing it again on day 3. Anyone have any tips? Or should I just rinse and condition my hair every night so I can brush it properly. (while conditioned in the shower with a shower comb).
