Hello,
We have a cat that we suspect is FIP
We know based on lab work done a month ago that she tested positive for FCoV at the 1:1600 level, which as the vet explained it, means she has an active case of FCoV but he wouldn’t/couldn’t say anything else.
We also know that she has not gotten better (although we disagree agree to the extent) but she has lost weight and is barely eating / drinking and very lethargic. She does not seem to be in any pain.
We are working with our vet to get a referral to a clinic that may be able to help us and maybe even definitively diagnose FIP (but my understanding you can really test for it)
But I guess I’m looking to see what steps people did to help them determine if their cat has FIP or if they started a treatment program before had a definitive diagnosis
Then at what point is it to late to start a treatment program? it’s been a month now and we suspect but don’t know for sure if she has FIP and given the cost idk if treatment is worth starting if it’s to late.
Thanks
Edit: I did post to the FIP Global CATS fb page
