Cultural Appropriation
Post Body

Yo I am a white male 27 years old.

I love all cultures and I try very hard to find a way to appreciate every race/culture. I listen to lots of Spanish music, I like horchata a lot and I even try to speak Spanish because I had a really close friend in college whose parents were immigrants from Mexico. He also introduced me to TAKIS.

I also love black people. I love black history, they invented Jazz. The only true American art form. They are the fathers of hip-hop and the kings and queens of soul music.

I thought this was very progressive of me, because my grandparents were very racist. People in my state fly confederate flags and it makes my blood boil.

But then I found out about cultural appropriation and now I feel like Iā€™m somehow in the wrong for trying to adopt and understand bits of other cultures.

Please help.
