Random $5 Ventra charge 2 days after using CTA
Post Body

Hey there- first time using the cta and I want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding something.

Over the weekend, I visited Chicago and used the cta 3 times: twice on the red line and once on the brown line. I tapped my credit card via Apple Pay.

I was charged $5 for the first day (red line) and $2.50 for the second day (brown line). All looked good. But now, 2 days after I’m home, another $5 charge popped up on my card from Ventra. Not pending; posted.

In total I was charged $12.50 but if I’m understanding correctly, I should not have been charged the random $5 today. I’m not even in Chicago anymore. Is this a fluke charge or am I misunderstanding the payment structure?

Thanks in advance.
