Can I drop my class?

Hey everyone. I applied to transfer for Fall 2021 and haven’t been admitted yet. Still waiting from the school. However, I am taking a class at my community college that is not needed for what I am going in for and I was thinking of dropping it. Can I drop it since it’s not required for my major? Or will that hurt my chances at admission?
