A complete noob to css.

How do I even learn the basis of css, I have a html web editor can I produce css snippets on it. Does CSS sheet have to have a certain order? How do you read the Copy and pasted bits of css on here, or do you just copy and paste it word for word. I'm completely lost on all of this.
