Are there any ways to play old CSGO besides legacy browser in the US?

Trying to play legacy browser I can only find EU lobbies being hosted for CSGO still and I get 100 - 200 ping even with really good internet.

I can't find any USA servers.

I remember there being talks of a separate csgo project that was trying to bring the game back in its 2014/2015 state (when csgo was in its prime) but last I heard about that project it was invite only.

Are there any other projects that are currently open? I'm just done with all the cheaters in CS2 and I tried getting back into source and 1.6 but I just don't have the crave for the older games anymore. I just wanna play the game I grew up with.
