Hey y'all,
I finished my education in the states and have been working in NL in security for about 2 years now. I am not an EU citizen. I got my first job by applying through the company website. I've had plenty of recruiters reach out to me since then but it wasn't until this week that I've started engaging with them because am looking for a next step. Am in a high demand field so I've had conversations with 4 recruiters in the last 2 weeks with all agreeable positions and only one of them paying lower than I want. This is my first time dealing with recruiters so am not sure what the common and best practices are. 2 of them told me I would initially be contracted to them and be on their company's (recruiters company's) pay roll for a year or two and after that, the client can chose to go permanent. Is this common practice here? My current contract is a time based contract but is directly with the company I work for. one of them even sent me a sample salary slip of what my net monthly pay would be as well as their contract (recruiting firms) before they even contacted the client for an interview . Is this common or am I getting scammed?
One of them told me to send me my resume with a statement that I'd like him to represent me in my application. Is this statement sort of thing common practice as well? He then ghosted me so am going to apply directly to the company because it is an interesting role.
Any advice and information here would be helpful.
