I am currently having 2 years of experience as a backend engineer in India and I am having a Masters of Technology (MTech) in Computer Science from IIT Madras.

I have been offered £70k per annum Software Engineer opportunity in London. This is base salary without tax deduction and doesn't have any variable component. The office is situated in the City centre and it's a startup in initial stage. I have been working with the recruiter on a well established start up in India, and now they are venturing a new startup in UK.

I have few queries from you guys.

1. How well does the compensation compares to the offerings for similar positions?
2. Considering the living cost and purchasing power, should I negotiate for a higher salary?
3. What questions should I ask the recruiter and what things should I consider before taking a decision?
4. What other benefits do I get from working in London?
